1. What was your main inspiration for your novel? I’m a believer of intelligent life on other planets, and I began wondering what they would make of us earthlings, which was the primary inspiration of Understanding the Stars. What if aliens put digital tracking devices into humans the same way we put tracking devices on sharks or whales or any other animals? What would happen to the victims of such an experiment? These were the primary questions that fueled the plot of this book. 2. When did You start writing? I began writing novels about four years ago. Understanding the Stars is the first one I’ve released, and it took me quite a long time to finish, given that I had two pregnancies and two babies in that time frame. But I was determined to get a book out there, so I sacrificed a lot of down time in order to finish!3. Can you give us an Idea on what your writing? Currently I am writing another YA post-apocalyptic story about a girl whose world is overrun with aliens. The protagonist has been so entertaining to write because she’s such a strong character. The story has been coming along much more quickly than Understanding the Stars, probably because I’m more experienced now.
